Life didn’t hand me an easy start. I came from nothing, growing up in poverty with little access to opportunities. I lacked formal education, and every step forward felt like climbing a mountain twice as high as those around me. But I never let that stop me.
My career began in the pawn industry, a world I quickly grew to love. While others had degrees and credentials, I had something else—grit. I worked harder than anyone, determined to prove my worth through action rather than words. That determination paid off, and I was promoted because of my relentless drive and ability to push through challenges. Hard work and persistence became my foundation, and I refused to let my circumstances define me.
At 28, I found myself at a crossroads. I was a single mom, struggling to balance responsibilities, and overweight. Life had handed me more than my fair share of difficulties, but I refused to be a victim of circumstance. Instead, I made a decision—I was going to take control. I lost weight, focused on my well-being, and pursued an education in Human Resources. I knew that if I wanted a better life, I had to create it myself.
That’s when I truly embraced my philosophy: “If you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way to get it.” Too often, people let their pasts hold them back. They blame their circumstances, their upbringing, or the lack of opportunity. But I believe that the only thing truly stopping us is ourselves. Success doesn’t come from excuses—it comes from action. You have to look internally and ask yourself why you’re not where you want to be. Then, you have to take responsibility and make the necessary changes.
Throughout my career, I learned the power of adaptation. I pivoted through various roles within organizations, trying different things until I found what truly made me happy. My mom always told me, “Never say no to a new experience, because you’ll never know what you’ll end up loving. There might be an opportunity you never saw coming.” That advice stuck with me, and it led me to a path I never expected—entrepreneurship.
I took a leap and started my own coaching company, Game Changer Consulting. But my work is more than just coaching—I become an integral part of my clients’ businesses. I don’t just offer advice; I immerse myself in their vision, helping them grow not only their businesses but also themselves. I work with business owners on recruitment, operations training, setting policies and procedures, retention strategies, budgeting, and community involvement. My expertise in the pawn industry allows me to provide specialized guidance, but my approach is applicable across industries.
What sets me apart is my hands-on, personal approach. I get to know my clients on a deep level—both professionally and personally—so I can truly understand their vision. This allows me to be more effective in helping them achieve success.
